Profile: from political asylum to the County Council

In March 2025 the West Valley Journal published a profile of Carlos Moreno’s road from political asylum to the Salt Lake County Council. The West Jordan Journal ran the same piece in May.

The article covers his early priorities in office: public safety, where he is working with law enforcement to close the gap between West Side communities and police agencies and plans a West Side Safety Advisory Committee; and fiscal responsibility, with his call to “rein in taxes and spending while ensuring county services remain effective.”
