On the ballot: the 2024 race for District 2

In October 2024 The Salt Lake Tribune’s voter guide covered the race for District 2 on the Salt Lake County Council, an open seat after David Alvord left the Council. Carlos Moreno ran as the Republican candidate, endorsed also by the Independent American Party, against Democrat Katie Olson.

Moreno’s campaign was run in English and Spanish. He won the seat in the November 5, 2024 general election and took office in January 2025.
